Nintendo 3DS
by D0M1N8R on Mar.25, 2010, under Gadgets, Gaming, Interesting finds, Knowledge, Random News, Uncategorized
I have not posted in a while but this news has me a little bit excited.
Nintendo has announced that they will be releasing a version of their Nintendo DS with the capability of displaying 3-D without the need of any glasses. I don’t think that I will go out and buy a Nintendo 3DS ( although I might) but the main thing that has me a little excited is all the brand-new 3-D technology for televisions and computer screens require glasses. The fact that Nintendo is making a system that does not require any glasses may mean that we are a lot closer than I had thought to moving into 3-D projection without any visual aids.
we shall see in a couple of months exactly how visually appealing this technology really is on a cheap and portable gaming device. For all I know it may just be a fancy video capable hologram which is still a huge step up!
Codemasters: Grid
by D0M1N8R on Jan.31, 2010, under Gadgets, Gaming, Uncategorized
As part of the promotion for my hardware upgrade I got 3 Codemaster games. Grid, Dirt, and flash point. It was a little retarded that newegg didn’t just package the steam keys with the shipment of parts and instead shipped them via UPS.
Anyway been spending a bit of time on Grid and just wanted to share my experience. Lets get my system configuration out of the way first.
Palm Pre / Google Calendar / Daylight Saving
by D0M1N8R on Nov.01, 2009, under Gadgets, Uncategorized
Something very weird happened today.. All my scheduled calander events seem to have moved 1 hour back after daylight savings time reverted last night. Not sure if this was a Google or Palm Pre bug.

Blackberry curve (Gemini)

On my last post concerning the new Blackberry Tour I thought the phone would be a complete failure and still do. Not even one month after the phones launch prices are already being cut back. However at the beginning of next month Blackberry is launching a new phone exclusive with T-Mobile with some subtle but much-needed upgrades to the Blackberry Curve lineup.
You can find a nice review on Blackberrycool.com HERE
Sounds like this phone will pack all features of the previous generation, boost horsepower under the hood (speed improvements), improve keyboard feel, and upgrade the unreliable trackball with a touch sensitive pad.

This Sunday July 12 Blackberry will be releasing the brand-new Tour phone with Sprint and Verizon. Blackberry has had a ton of success with their Bold and Curve as well as the 8800. This phone is supposed to be the successor of those phones however I feel that it is a downgrade from the previous generation. Let me explain why (continue reading…)

Got my Palm Pre
by D0M1N8R on Jun.07, 2009, under Gadgets, Uncategorized
Nearly one week early someone was spotted in line to get his Palm Pre.. Click Here for that news
I arrived at the Sprint store about 30 minutes before doors opened and was third in line. Across the street at Best Buy I did not see anybody in line but there were some cars there. Not sure if those were for customers or for employees.
I was really expecting to see a line of people with tents/blankets. the first person in line at that store arrived at 2:30 AM. The second person arrived at around 5 AM. I got there at 7:30 AM. There was about 8 to 9 people that arrived about 10 minutes before the store opened. Clearly it is not the iPhone killer but I can tell you from experience I prefer this phone over the iPhone. Even with its extensive app store the iPhone was far too unstable to enjoy. So far there has been zero crashes on the new Palm Pre phone.
The First in line guy from news must be feeling like a real jackass at the moment. Anyway check out the Palm Pre Unboxing I recorded on YouTube
