Uxbrige, MA Rt. 122 SUV knocks down pole and suspect fled scene.

by D0M1N8R on May.30, 2010, under Random News, Uncategorized

Uxbridge, MA about midnight on Rt. 122 on 5/30 in front of Hannafords a GMC SUV had struck a pole and knocked it down. The pole had several transformers on it. I caught some footage of a nearby pole catching fire and several explosions. On the radio we heard there were a couple other poles down the street that had also caught on fire.

$1 Mega Guides

by D0M1N8R on Apr.08, 2010, under Interesting finds, Knowledge, Random News, Recommendations, Uncategorized

Im not usually someone to help advertise a sale but thought this may be worth mentioning if your a geek like me. At this price though even if you have a remote interest in some tech you may just want to get one to scim through.
This is a 24 hour sale so hurry up. I’ve already ordered about 30 guides at this price and my past experience with their guides was part of my studies for Network+, Security+, and CCNA and found them to be helpful but failed my CCNA due to limitations with emulator at test center which has nothing to do with Mega Guide.

Mind Recognition Dictation

by admin on Mar.25, 2010, under Interesting finds, Random News, Uncategorized

I love technology and most of my post I use Dragon naturally speaking to dictate the text you read. Now this new news has me debating if we should really be scared of this new technology due to privacy concerns or embrace it for all the advantages it brings.

IMEC reports that they have developed a device that can interpret brain waves into words.  they call it the Mind Speller. You can read more about that HERE.

They have also mentioned the ability to interpret brain ways and detect user emotions for the purpose of feeding this information back into games. should really check out their website and see how many projects they have merging human bodies and technology to work together.

Nintendo 3DS

by D0M1N8R on Mar.25, 2010, under Gadgets, Gaming, Interesting finds, Knowledge, Random News, Uncategorized

I have not posted in a while but this news has me a little bit excited.

Nintendo has announced that they will be releasing a version of their Nintendo DS with the capability of displaying 3-D without the need of any glasses. I don’t think that I will go out and buy a Nintendo 3DS ( although I might) but the main thing that has me a little excited is all the brand-new 3-D technology for televisions and computer screens require glasses. The fact that Nintendo is making a system that does not require any glasses may mean that we are a lot closer than I had thought to moving into 3-D projection without any visual aids.

we shall see in a couple of months exactly how visually appealing this technology really is on a cheap and portable gaming device. For all I know it may just be a fancy video capable hologram which is still a huge step up!

Mac vs PC wars

by D0M1N8R on Jul.16, 2009, under Random News, Software, Uncategorized

I think we have all seen the Microsoft advertisement where they claim to have selected random people $1000 and challenge them to purchase a computer. They start off at the Mac store where they have no luck and then visit the local computer store where they find plenty of options for PCs under $1000. Apple is now threatening Microsoft to pull the ad or risk legal actions. This is coming from the company that has been making fun of Microsoft windows for long time now.
In other news Microsoft has announced that they will be opening stores to promote and sell their products just like Apple does. They also said that some of the stores will be located near the Mac stores.

Apple has also recently launched a attack against Palm Pre yesterday by updating its iTunes software to block Palm Pre synchronization via iTunes. Palm Pre will have another major update within the next 30 days and already there is rumor that this update may very possibly retrick the iTunes software. We shall see soon enough!

AMD vs Intel gaming performance

by D0M1N8R on Jul.16, 2009, under Gaming, Knowledge, Random News, Recommendations, Uncategorized

I think most PC builders realize Intel currently leads in the Processor performance department but when you are working within a budget I think you will find 9 times out of 10 you will get more performance for your money on the AMD platform. Toms Hardware website has posted such a comparison regarding in this case gaming optimized computer builds. Read it HERE

Blackberry curve (Gemini)

by D0M1N8R on Jul.16, 2009, under Gadgets, Knowledge, Random News, Uncategorized

On my last post concerning the new Blackberry Tour I thought the phone would be a complete failure and still do. Not even one month after the phones launch prices are already being cut back. However at the beginning of next month Blackberry is launching a new phone exclusive with T-Mobile with some subtle but much-needed upgrades to the Blackberry Curve lineup.

You can find a nice review on Blackberrycool.com HERE

Sounds like this phone will pack all features of the previous generation, boost horsepower under the hood (speed improvements), improve keyboard feel, and upgrade the unreliable trackball with a touch sensitive pad.
