Mac vs PC wars
by D0M1N8R on Jul.16, 2009, under Random News, Software, Uncategorized
I think we have all seen the Microsoft advertisement where they claim to have selected random people $1000 and challenge them to purchase a computer. They start off at the Mac store where they have no luck and then visit the local computer store where they find plenty of options for PCs under $1000. Apple is now threatening Microsoft to pull the ad or risk legal actions. This is coming from the company that has been making fun of Microsoft windows for long time now.
In other news Microsoft has announced that they will be opening stores to promote and sell their products just like Apple does. They also said that some of the stores will be located near the Mac stores.
Apple has also recently launched a attack against Palm Pre yesterday by updating its iTunes software to block Palm Pre synchronization via iTunes. Palm Pre will have another major update within the next 30 days and already there is rumor that this update may very possibly retrick the iTunes software. We shall see soon enough!

HP C3180 RIP
by D0M1N8R on May.21, 2009, under Recommendations, Software, Uncategorized
When you come across a printer that costs less than the print cartridges you grab it and run. Such was the case when I purchased my HP C3180 for $25. I actually grabbed upon two of them and when the first one ran out of ink about a year and a half ago I simply tossed it out and hooked up the second printer. Now the second printer is about to go in the trash only this time it’s not because it ran out of ink, but instead the scanner portion of the printer has quit working.
Thought I would share my experience with the HP products in general that has accumulated both through ownership and to support in the technical field.

Love Skype!
by D0M1N8R on Apr.28, 2009, under Site News, Software, Uncategorized
Just purchased 2 webcams (Philips SPC1300NC). One will be shipped out to my parents house in Puerto Rico while other I’ll be using. Been using skype for a very long time which has saved me a lot of money on phone bills. I will be using skype to video chat with the parents soon enough!
And of course my webcam/skype feedback will be posted here soon enough.
I hear Skype 4.0 has better quality video so I may do the upgrade finally. Just think 3.8 is so much more compact even with 4.0 in compact view.

For Vista we only got the business editions and enterprise.. I went ahead and Formatted Win7 drive and replaced it with Windows Vista Business 64 bit. Read on for my shared experience…
